WHAT IS VERIFIED BY VISA?

Verified by Visa is free to Visa cardholders and was developed to help prevent  unauthorized use of Visa cards online. Verified by Visa protects Visa cards with personal passwords, giving cardholders reassurance that only they can use their Visa cards online. Once your card is activated, your card number will be recognized whenever it's used at participating online stores. A Verified by Visa window will automatically appear and your visa card issuer will ask for your password. You'll enter your password to verify your identity and complete your purchase. At stores that aren't participating in Verified by Visa yet, your Visa card will continue to work as usual.

WHAT IS MASTERCARD® SECURECODE™?

MasterCard® SecureCode™ is a new service from MasterCard and your card issuer that provides added protection when you buy online. There is no need to

Jewellery Care

DOES MY JEWELLERY CONTAIN NICKEL?

All our 925 sterling silver and 18k gold jewellery is nickel free, but the base metal in some of our Vermeil jewellery may contain trace elements of nickel. Be aware that Nickel is naturally occurring and may be present as a trace element in some semi precious stones and minerals stones. It is therefore possible that a small number of people who are hypersensitive may suffer a reaction.

HOW SHOULD I TAKE CARE OF MY JEWELLERY?

Many factors can influence the condition of jewellery and to make sure it gives enjoyment for years to come it is important to look after it, ensuring it is worn appropriately, properly cleaned, repaired, stored and not put at risk of damage. Stones, particularly semi precious and mineral stones should be treated as fragile objects and are particularly vulnerable to breakage due to shock (eg: dropping on a hard surface). They may chip or shatter. You may wish to insure your jewellery against such accidental damage. Be aware that stones will in all likelihood be permanently damaged if cleaned using techniques other than by the method recommended below. Always protect your jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals (including cosmetics, sun screens, bleach, cleaning materials etc) sunlight and extreme heat/cold.  You should apply any make up, lotions, skin medications, suncreams etc, allow them to dry and remove any such residues from your hands before putting on your jewellery.  Above all apply common sense and ask for advise from a jewellery professional or contact us if in doubt.

HOW SHOULD MY JEWELLERY BE CLEANED?

We advise cleaning your stones with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth after wearing. Silver will tarnish gradually over time – a natural process. To remove light tarnishing use a soft lint-free cloth to gently buff the silver. To remove firmer tarnish a cloth impregnated with ‘silver polish’ can be used very gently on the silver parts of our cufflinks. Ensure that the stones are avoided as most semi-precious stones are porous and/or have small fissure lines and the soiled/blackened polish may penetrate the surface leaving unsightly and permanent stains. They may also scratch or abrade the surface. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they also can cause abrasion. Regular care will prevent the silver developing a heavy tarnish.  To restore them from such a condition should only be done professionally by a reputable jeweller - whom we recommend you should consult for advice.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE ON THE WEARING AND STORAGE OF MY JEWELLERY?

Always protect your jewellery from damage while wearing taking particular care that is in not in contact with other hard objects or abrasive material you might be wearing that may make contact or rub against it causing damage.  Always apply lotions or perfumed products and allow them to dry BEFORE putting on your jewellery making sure your hands are clean.  Remove jewellery before you shower or bathe, particularly on the beach.

Ensure that your jewellery is free of any abrasive material (e.g.: sand) before cleaning. After wearing, we advise cleaning your stones with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth and always store it in its original box in a cool dry environment.

Take care when handling your jewellery as damage is likely to occur if items land on a hard surface.

Some of our plated cables are given a nylon coating to protect the plating and ensure long life.  All plated chains should be treated with particular care to minimise the risk of wear to the plated surface.
